FAQs - Drapery

FAQs - Drapery

—Answer: To achieve the best results for hanging curtains, position the curtain rod slightly above the window frame and extend it several inches beyond the frame on each side. This placement ensures that your curtains will fully cover the window when drawn, while still allowing ample natural light to enter your space. By following this simple curtain rod placement tip, you can enhance both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of your window treatments.

—Answer: When choosing curtain length, it's generally better to opt for curtains that are slightly longer rather than too short. Short curtains may fail to cover the window adequately and can appear awkward.
Longer curtains, on the other hand, offer more flexibility for adjustment and often enhance the room’s aesthetic by pooling elegantly on the floor.
For a polished look and better window coverage, consider selecting curtains that extend beyond the window frame.

—Answer: Curtains should be 2 to 2.5 times wider than the window. This extra width allows the curtains to be pulled back beyond the window frame, maximizing natural light and enhancing the overall look of the window.

—Answer: It's suggested to clean your curtains every 3 to 6 months for a fresh and tidy home. However, weekly routine cleaning is a must to reduce dust and allergens.

—Answer: Yes, you have to wash window curtains to keep them clean and fresh. For the washing method, follow the care instructions provided by the manufacturer. For example, for synthetic fabrics like nylon and polyester, avoid dry cleaning; for silk curtains avoid the washing machine; for sheer curtains, use mild detergent, etc.

—Answer: To install a curtain rod, first determine the ideal height above the window frame. Use a measuring tape to ensure the rod is level on both sides. Securely attach the brackets to the marked spots with screws and a drill, making sure they are level and firmly fixed.
Next, slide the curtain rod into the brackets.
If your curtain rod features finials (decorative end caps), position them so they face outward for an attractive finish.
By following these steps, you’ll achieve a professional-looking curtain installation.

—Answer: It is recommended that the minimum width is no less than 22 inch. The finished product smaller than 22 inch will have poorer effect.

—Answer: Here are the main differences between these styles:
Opening Size: The Tailor Pleat has a larger opening compared to the Pinch Pleat. Hook Type: Tailor Pleat drapery features S-shaped metal hooks with permanently sewn pleats. In contrast, the Pinch Pleat style uses plastic adjustable pin hooks.

Heavy

Great curtains. These are heavy so make sure you have well mad curtain rods or your rod will bend. I got the orange curtains and I love them. Absolutely blackout curtains and will help keep the house warm in the evenings and night. Love the pleats and they come with more than enough hardware to hang. The fabric is sturdy and feels long lasting. Length is as described. Over all I think a great value for the money. Highly recommend.

Thick!

I love how thick these are! I live in Arizona so it gets HOT! I bought these blackout curtains and the linen look is so pretty. The back is white lined with another material that keeps heat out! I was trying the different rod looks, one with the back tabs and one with the rings. I plan on steaming them to get the wrinkles out but will be buying more!

Great quality

I absolutely love these linen curtains. The linen texture adds a luxurious vibe to any room, creating an elegant yet warm atmosphere. They have a nice weight to them, which not only adds to their quality but also helps them hang beautifully. Best of all, they effectively block out 100% of the sunlight, making them perfect for maintaining privacy and creating a cozy, darkened space when needed. These curtains are a perfect blend of style and functionality!
